Katipunan: GMA's 1st Historical Drama Series 

GMA News and Public Affairs' Katipunan is an eight-part historical miniseries on the revolutionary group founded by Andres Bonifacio. Starring award-winning actor Sid Lucero as Bonifacio, Katipunan presents the heels and heroes of the Philippine Revolution. It reveals the truth about the intrigues infighting in the Katipunan.

Volume 1 - Episode 1 -4
It is 1892, and the Filipinos are beginning to rebel against Spain, forcing the colonizers to crack down viciously against dissenters. Against the backdrop of ordinary Filipinos suffering at the hands of abusive Spanish friars and officials, Andres Bonifacio and a handful of Indios founded the Kataas-taasan, Kagalang-galangan Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan or Katipunan. While girding for a war, Bonifacio, a widower, falls in love with Gregoria de Jesus. Proves to be Bonifacio's match, becoming one of the revolutionary movement's key leaders.

To aid in storytelling, this series contains several fictional characters.
